If I use a PCIe 2.0 x16 card in a PCIe x16 slot with DDR5 memory would I be creating a bottleneck? Im looking to upgrade a Radeon HD 2400 to something a little better, but don't want to waste money on a higher end card if my bus cant' take advantage of it. Also any suggests on GPU mfg? I've heard mixed reviews. Any opinion would be appreciated.

Mobo Specs: http://support.gateway.com/s/MOTHERBD/Shared/4006254R/4...

Also representation of the current card in place. I dont know just how much clearance I have in length because of that heatsink at the end of the card. http://img9.imageshack.us/i/1106090927.jpg/
I'll be a bit limited in lenghth as well as width (most likely only room for a single slot card.

Hi.

Should be fine assuming the card you decide to buy fits physically within the case

i would suggest a 5770 ; if that wont fit (get a tape measure :)  go for something smaller

as far as mfg suggestions: XFX and Saphire are both pretty good
