Dell Inspiron 530 desktop video card

Has anyone put a 5870 or GTX 480 in one of these ? (With a upgraded PSU of course) I have a q6600 with 4850.. thinking about upgrading the GPU.

  1. It looks like a proprietary board that is somewhat wide. There is no extra room beyond the edge of the board for a card, so it all depends on how long that MB is. Measure it and then you'll know what will fit.
  2. Do you have a 530 ?
  3. Don't own one.
Don't know that anyone has put either of those cards in one.
Do know that the GTX 480 is the same physical size as a 9800GTX and people have put those in the I530.

Like Delluser, I can look at pictures. It's not a standard board so I don't know the measurements.
  5. I didn't think the board size was needed with a picture of the same size card in the case.
It's made for Dell but it's pretty much a standard micro ATX board.
9.6 x 9.6 inches, standard mATX hole pattern, socket 775 heatsink hole pattern and uses Intel standard front panel connections.
  6. It looks like the 9800GTX fits inside the drive cage.... if it was just a little bit different the GTX 480 power sockets might be slightly blocked. Nothing a little modding wouldn't fix of course. It does look that close though.
