OCZ Vertex 3 unreliable? Buy or not?

I want to get an SSD(s) for a computer I'm going to build right after Christmas. I have a budget of $110 for the ssd(s) in my build. Newegg is running a Black Friday sale on some OCZ Vertex 3 120gb drives for $50 a piece. Then I could get relatively fast drives that would total 240gb. I'm only worried about these drives being unreliable. When they came out they had great reviews, but I know the sandforce controller used has had some bugs and that its been getting lower reviews lately. So my question is do you think I'm better off waiting for say a 128gb Samsung 840 pro to come down into the <$110 range with increased reliability and performance but only getting half the size, or should I get these at the current steal of $.42/gb? Is the Vertex 3 just not worth the risk of it breaking after a couple months usage?

You know "Made in Japan" was as good as sh!t 60 years ago ... and some WWII vets still hate anything JAP

Now tell me where you saw this deal so I can get in on it !!! Newegg isn't listing it for me ): Did you sign up for their email list or something?

Not quite. Especially since the Samsung 840 Pro blows everything else away.

^ I doubt things are as bad today, but still... OCZ does not spell SSD reliability.

Sure, but it blows EVERYTHING away, including wallets. :)
It's also the next gen of tech - nobody else has a comparable SSD.

Those posts are from last year - the "4" series doesn't use the sandforce controller, and even the 3 series has gotten around its problems.

Just saying... Though it wasn't earlier, OCZ is a good brand now.
