Hi guys,

Need some help in deciding which secondary drive to go for....

Just built a new system recently coz previous system died...Used a WD1002FAEX Black 1TB for
the primary drive, transferred a secondary drive from dead system over as secondary on the new one..
Its a WD5000AAKS Blue 500GB, age is close to 5yrs with ard 38000 power on hours already...
No errors or any issues with the drive so far, even after transferring to new system...
But i think its high time that i retire it to a external drive or something else...

Main use for this sec drive is for storing torrent downloads only, performance not key factor...
Main issue is stability in an 24/7 operation environment...

So heres the dilemma, WD Red 1TB costs $120, Black 1TB $126, RE4 1TB $149...
The Black and RE4 has a 5yr warranty while the Red 3yr over here...

So what do you think guys?

The RE4 drives are mainly used for raid setups , the Reds are for NAS and the Blacks are for desktop users. If your going to be running 24/7 then the Reds would be a good choice because they are designed for that environment.
