hi, this hdd is connected to my SATA3 controller. i have an i5 + 8gb DDR and when im copying a folder for example to the same directory the transfer speed starts at 160MB/S and quickly drops to 60-80. when im looking at benchmarks for this hdd i should get about 190 MB/S on average. it is SATA3 which suppose to work on 600MB/S.

what is the problem?

thank you,

the problem is the way hard drives work, lots of random reads and writes slowing down performance, the fastest speed you can get only when copy large file from ssd to hdd or by using hdd synthetic tests

you should accept 60MB of speed for your situation as quite good,
if you suspect drive failure than use some hdd tools to check S.M.A.R.T. status of your hard drive

P.S. sorry for bumping old thread, its all google's fault, i was just checking on baracuda reviews :)
