Lg uh12ls29 blu ray

I just got a new desktop which has an LG UH12LS29 BluRay. For some reason, the LG and CyberLink PowerDVD were not loaded by IBuyPower, so I loaded them. These included the CyberLink Power DVD suites. Also included on the SuperMultliBlue Install Disc for Windows are LG Tool Kit and LightScribe Control Panel. My technology is a little old, so let me apologize right up front. But what does the LG Tool Kit do? When I start it, I get a box that asks if I want to allow fwupdate.exe located in C:/Program Files (x86) to make changes to this computer. I'm running 64 bit. Isn't this directory a 32 bit folder? I'm sure it's an update program for the firmware, however, when I say yes nothing happens. Should it? And is this the only tool in the tool kit? It says nothing about any of this in the owner's manual. I searched the web and did find a few postings that says this doesn't work for 64 bit.

Can someone out there tell me what's happening (or not!) and maybe give me some hints as to what I should do? IBuyPower has been no help on this, unfortunately. I checked the LG website and it says there's an update for my UH12LS29 but when I try to find it at the link they say to go to, nothing is there and they don't seem to know what a UH12LS29 is.

Also, the CyberLink BD advisor says I have 4G of system memory when I have 16G. I checked by doing Win-Pause and it says I have 16G installed and am running Win 7 64 bit. So, what's happening?

Any help would be most appreciated! Thanks much.
Irene
