Asus Xonar DX problem

Last response: in Components

For some reason after I installed the newest driver when I enable Dolby Pro Logic IIx, Dolby Headphone or Dolby Virtual speaker nothing happens and it just stays in stereo mode without decoding anything. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling new and old drivers but it doesn't change a thing. Does anyone have this problem?

u need to select speaker channel as well, however dolby headphone is designed for headphones... and dolby vitual speaker is made for anything except under 5.1
both of these DSP requires dolby pro logic to upmix it into 5.1 b4 being decoded into these effects.

I assune you have a 5.1 system (Pro Logic) or headset (Virtual Headphone) to test with...? I need a little more info on this one.

I found a way to fix it. For some reason if you change the default format to anything but 16bit, 44100 Hz in the sound option inside the control panel the dolby decoder would not work.

Tictac pretty much summed it up. Plus have a 4 channel setup for headphones as it sounds the best. I use PCM at 44.1khz as I cannot hear a difference between that and 196khz. Analog out is 2 speakers.

These are the settings that I use for my headphones.
