Well it is a Server, it is not intended for gaming - If I have that rig I will help solve our environmental problem.

I'd put triple SLI GTX 480s rather than that 5970.

What would this theoretically be used for? Just a build for "everything" to see how much it would cost to go "all the way"?

What's stopping you from raiding three Z-drives?

Also, 3 sets of that ram wouldn't work because the board only supports ECC memory.

Also, you can't use multi- core i7s. You need the xeon for more than one:

Other than that , I will be going for the 68XX or 69XX series....
Otherwise it's an awesome setup, but, I'd have preferred ECC Mem for a server board... And in place of the MLC it would be a SLC with money to burn... why settle for second best.....

I agree with Enzo. What Intel and AMD need to incorporate is to allow the user to use a dual mode CPU rack system that enables certain processes.
