I am NOT asking for build advise just input of the products.

I understand the compatibility issues, but bear with me here...it would be one heck of a unit:

(1) Motherboard:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

(2) Central Processing Units:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Total so far: 2449.97 US Dollars, (without Tax and Shipping).

What do ya' think?

well you do get a free star trek game so that makes it worth it. otherwise I would say they may a bit pricey without the game

^ It seems people have issues with it. IDK, but hopefully I can get some parts to beat this beast and cheaper as well.

I was thinking...........
What are you gonna be using this rig for????????????
Though working on it itself would feel............awesome......... but would be heartbroken and not to forget bankrupt if it didn't play Crysis at the Imax resolutions with every setting at extremely high......

Well it is a Server, it is not intended for gaming - If I have that rig I will help solve our environmental problem.

Lol!!! with 2X 130 Watt Processors............. :)  That's going to be very 'environmentally' friendly I must say......
Lets not forget the rest of the rig..... :)
I'd personally have the whole worlds global warming right in my room.... :)

I'd put triple SLI GTX 480s rather than that 5970.

What would this theoretically be used for? Just a build for "everything" to see how much it would cost to go "all the way"?

What's stopping you from raiding three Z-drives?

Also, 3 sets of that ram wouldn't work because the board only supports ECC memory.

Also, you can't use multi- core i7s. You need the xeon for more than one:

I'm drooling ok...... Will get the Revo in the next 2 months I think :)
Other than that , I will be going for the 68XX or 69XX series....
Otherwise it's an awesome setup, but, I'd have preferred ECC Mem for a server board... :)  And in place of the MLC it would be a SLC :)  with money to burn... why settle for second best.....

Hot and loud.

Like one user said, "I bet my PC would catch on fire from an SLI configuration from these cards!"

^ Enzo said "580s", not 480s :p . The 580 is what the 480 shouldda been..

I agree with Enzo. What Intel and AMD need to incorporate is to allow the user to use a dual mode CPU rack system that enables certain processes.

Like server boards....2 LGA sockets on 1 mobo. First, make the MOBO and CPU cheaper.

I'm not sure what you are getting at. Something like when they came out with the Athlon FX systems?

I'm still thinking..........:)
Drooling and all................
I think I must have filled a pool by now with the drool.....
Really, Now I am having second thoughts about getting some dough to get a new rig like something from above..... really got me wondering how a Dual Processor board with 2X 12Cores would help in encoding videos and doing other stuff.....
I have a feeling we're all going to be doing some crazy stuff here , real soon....
I would personally go for the Magny-Cours....
