Hey Guys,

I am going to be buying a 5870 soon and wanted to know which is the manufacturer to go for? I saw this one on overclockers and wanted your opinion as to whether or not its worth the money?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I am asking the same type of question. I just had a 5870 2gb model fail on me " or so we think. I may be leaning towards the card you have listed or I might just go with the Nvidia gtx 480.

I'll let you know how that card is if I get it...

I would just get an HD5850 or GTX 470 and overclock it. The HD5870 is a rather poor deal for the money in comparison.
Here is a reference HD5850 with 2 games for £217;

The reference card allows you to bump up the voltage on the core for a huge overclock, usually up around 1ghz. At that speed it will be much better than a stock HD5870, more in line with a GTX 480.
The GTX 470 overclocks a huge amount as well so that is another option;

Wow, old thread! :o  In any event, i agree, go with the 5850, oc it, and boom. The 470 is good, however has all the curses of fermi, and costs a decent bit more.
