APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Within the next two weeks

BUDGET RANGE: $700-$900

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Capturing gameplay via Hauppauge HD PVR from PS3, HD editing and rendering of gameplay with sony vegas, internet, light gaming (nothing like playing crysis or sc3, maybe things like left for dead 2) although there is a possibility I might get into more PC gaming.

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Monitor, Keyboard, and Mouse

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Newegg, Amazon (to avoid California sales tax)

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: USA/SF Bay Area

PARTS PREFERENCES: AMD CPU

OVERCLOCKING: No

SLI OR CROSSFIRE: No

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Preferably a quiet PC that won't make my room feel like the inside of an oven. I want something that will last me a long time. A good 4 years out of the machine would be nice. I live 15 minutes away from Fry's and about 45 minutes from Microcenter.

I am missing a case, OS, power supply, as I'm somewhat confused at the wattage I'd need. Here's what I've come up with so far:

XFX HD-577A-ZNFC Radeon HD 5770 (Juniper XT)

Any random optical drive...

So any input would be great.

Do you think I can maintain a 700-900 dollar budget going with the i7? I'm not sure if I can maintain that.

Misinformed much? The GTX 460 is a GF104 and runs very cool, even compared to ATI cards.

It idles at about 35C... and loads cooler as well.

The GF100 chips (465/470/480) are very warm, yes they aren't for everyone. Different cards, different people.
