Which 5850 card

Ihave a newegg.com code to get a extra $20 off this card which would make it $269.00 Is it a good deal or should I get a different one and pay a little more. It looks like it is built cheaply

More about which 5850 card
  1. What is your specs? I heard that egg cooler for the 5850 was meh...

You might be better off getting a GTX460 depending on your specs.
  2. Edit, sorry misread.

Regardless, XFX is a good brand.
  3. XFX is a really good brand and has lifetime warranty, i would for that one
  4. i would go for that one* i meant in my last sentence, haha
  5. That is a link to the card for spec.
  6. take the hit and go with this one:

its the best 5850 imo, and much better than that xfx. sure the xfx is cheaper, but u get what you pay for.
  7. I agree. XFX is a solid brand; not to mention the lifetime warranty. My 5830 stays rather cool with the same cooling setup as the 5850 you are looking at, i.e. it hovers in the mid 40's (C) on idle and when I've really cranked it up, it hasn't even hit 70C. Not to mention that I find the fan pretty quiet as well. I'd go for it.
  8. xfx is fun and all, but to my knowledge, it has no voltage control, and that card doesnt look to have terribly great cooling. bite the bullet and get the Asus, you get what you pay for.
  9. The sink on that 5850 is crap unless you are going to leave the card at stock clocks. It's 290.00$ w/ free shipping for a reason =)

    +1 BSOD & ares
