A motherboard question

I was looking to update my 4GB memory DDR2 into 6GB DDR2 or 3. Thats the problem

Can ASUS P5QPL-AM support DDR3 memory?

If it can, will I see much performance increase on games from -

4GB DDR2 @ 5-5-5-18 3-23-6-3

to

6GB DDR2/3 (stock timings)

No it doesn't,it only supports DDR2 RAMs
Anyway,in games you won't see a noticeable difference between 4GB and 6GB but in heavy image/video editing you'll notice a small boost in performance

Also, do NOT buy a 6GB kit - 6GB kits are 3 x 2GB DIMMs, intended for LGA1366 motherboards which take 3 DIMMs at a time.

You should be buying a kit of two DDR2 DIMMs. Two 4GB DIMMs will give you 8GB of RAM.

You would have to upgrade everything to jump onto DDR3 platform. and by everything i mean Motherboard, CPU, Memory. (3 of those will boost your performance)

There won't be any noticeable difference if you only upgrade memory (**)
