Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound $10

Plus $100 for Windows 7 64-bit and that total is around $1050

After looking around at reviews and different deals for about 2 weeks now, this is what I've come to settle on, with a few uncertainties.

First, I'm unsure if I really need the thermal compound. But as I plan to OC, I thought it would be better than what may come with it.

Also, I've been debating on if I should get the Phenom 965 or 955. I reaqd somewhere that it's likley that AMD keeps the best CPU's for the higher priced 965. And since its only $20 more, I thought I would just do that. But I am on the fence on this minor issue.

Any suggestions, comments, or questions on anything would be very welcome.

5850 is overkill at ur reso, but i guess its good if u ever think of upgrading ur monitor. if you can get a combo with a 955 BE for cheaper its essentially the same as the 965 with a slower clock. they overclock to the same.

batuchka's build is what i'd probably go for with the ssd. these things are seriously blazing fast, you cant knock it until you try it. i upgraded from a velociraptor and i've had no regrets at all, and my ssd isn't even a mindblowing one.

btw, i had never even heard of antec 600's. they look awesome!
