Hi pople out there who know these things.

I am an architecture student and i need a new system that can handle 3d models and that kinda thing and i also like to play a few games (civ 5 when it comes out and starcraft)

I have 2 systems in mind

System 1

Details:

CPU - i7-930
RAM - New 6GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM
MOTHERBOARD -asrock extreme3 X58 USB 3.0 SATA3.0 eSATA3.0 Motherboard
HARD DRIVE - 1TB Hard Drive
CD - 22x DVD Burner BRAND NEW DVD Burner
Video Card - ATI Radeon™ HD 5850
Power - True Power 860w Dual Fan Ultra Cool Power Supply

total $1450 (AUS$)

System 2

CPU - i7-930
RAM - 6(3x2)GB G Skill Ripjaws DDR3 2000MHz ram
MOTHERBOARD - Asus P6T-SE
Hard Disk - Seagate 1TB SATA II 32M cache 7200rpm
CD - DVD burner -Pioneer DVR218BK 22X Dual-Layer SATA Burner
Video Card- ATI Radeon HD5850 1G GDDR5 Video Card
Power Supply - Thermaltake V3 Black Edition Case
Codegen (or Titan) Dual 12V 625W Power Supply
Case - looks a bit nicer than the other systems (but i am not botherd about looks)

Coast $1550 (AUS$)

So basically for the extra $100 i would get a worse motherboard (i think, no usb3 sata3) better ram (2000ghz vs 1333ghz) and i have no idea what power supply is better? and a nicer looking case.

what do you think?

To be honest,
1333MHz ram is going to do you fine gaming,
I'd swap the psu out for a decent branded one, Corsair tx650 would be nice imo
and if it wasn't for your 3d modelling studies, I'd say lower the chip as well,
But essentially, the first system.
