Will an AMD Athlon 64 FX-62 (processor) work in a motherboard that says it supports AM2/AM2+ (socket) and Athlon 64 CPU type? I am asking because I have noticed that some motherboards out there will say they supports Athlon 64 FX and some do not mention FX.

You can check the supported processor list for whichever motherboard you select from the manufacturer's website. Alternatively you can check at www.cpu-upgrade.com also.
