^+1.. The best (both on cooling and silence) without a doubt.. Its huge however.. Won't fit every case and will hinder with memory modules which have tall heat spreaders.. That is where the H70 has the advantage.. Great cooling performance at a smaller installation footprint.. But its comparatively more noisy..

Has to be the best response to the H70 vs. D14 question that I've seen
I have the D-14 and it is nothing short of amazing! I strongly recommend it. my 930 runs 36C idle and 68C prime load at 4.3GHZ 1.3v
Just keep in mind it weighs about 2 lbs and is gigantic.. you will noth be able to use ram with a hug heatsink. i can say the mushkin redlines will fit under it
i have two side case fans (coolermaster r4s)would i still be able to keep them with this cooler installed?coolermaster site says i can have up to 165 mm cooler to keep the fans
there will be no overclocking
core i7 930 or 950
asus p6x58d premium
corsair 3 x 2gb dominator
corsair ax850
geforce gtx 460 1 gb
coolermaster storm scout case
rosewill media card reader
samsung f3 1 tb hdd
windows 7 ultimate
lg blu ray burner
asus dvd rw burner
samsung 24 inch monitor
logitech mouse and keyboard
the d-14 is 160mm you will have 5mm clearance.. may I ask why you want the best cooler if you don't plan to overclock? or are you planning to later on?
i like my systems to run at their best performance, cooling, rendering, encoding, etc.i dont like to take chances.i was taught to do it right the first time.a little overbuilding doesnt hurt lol
If you are not going to overclock then might as well opt for a cooler to add some bling to your setup.. Check out the Zalman CNPS9700 LED for that matter..
You can check out the Thermaltake SpinQ VT for the red led effect.. Its not the best cooler out there but since you are not gonna bother with overclocking, it'll be quite efficient.. It looks distinctively cool though..
