How to remove write protection

Hello,
I want to ask about MP3 player. I just bought it with 8GB of memory card. The shopper had added a few songs to my MP3 player. When I went home, I connected the MP3 player using the usb wire to my laptop. When I tried to delete a few songs from the memory, I found that, it cannot be delete. Plus, the type of that file is not MP3 format but, application.exe . Can you help me on how to remove the write protected, remove the songs, remove the virus in it and change the type into MP3 format type ?!

Remove the memory card.
Slide the lock-unlock tab in the opposite direction.
Put it into a card reader on your laptop or PC which has good virus protection installed.
Format it (that will erase everything from the card).
