Hey there when trying to install windows XP professional sp 1 and 2 (got 2 disks) I get the following error:

Stop 0x00000078 (0xF78D2524 0xc0000034. 0x00000000, 0x00000000

now I searched around and many people said it has to do with the raid setting and that I had to disable it, but the point is that I want to use raid and so disabling this is no option for me. Is there no other solution?

thanks in advance :)

Hello,

If you are going to clean install Win-XP Prof, consider using the original Install disk and the SP-3 Service Pack. Need only those two disks. If you don't have SP-3, can get it from MS for $8 +-.

Here is the Microsoft support article regarding this error:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324103

If you are going to install your OS on a RAID-0 volume, using the Intel Southbridge or PCH, need to click F6 to install the RAID drivers before the OS installs. If you are going to place your OS on a simple partition or simle volume, and set up a RAID-0 volume on a secondary controller, you can install the chipset drivers after the OS is installed.
