what do you think of this psu?i want to replace most of my components with high quality parts so i wont have to replace them for a few years

The ax isn't worth it over the hx since the ax isn't much of an improvement over the hx to justify the price premium.but have a look at the xfx 850 as well its just as good as the hx850

Its call future proof. If he wants to upgrade later down the line he will have enough power.

Yes i understand that.. I was just curious to know OP's current system specs.. Guess i should have asked it directly.. Meanwhile, future proofing needs to be more smart than senseless.. Otherwise, OP can just get the AX 1200 and be relaxed forever perhaps..

intel q6600,asrock pe43de,coolermaster storm scout case,rosewill 600 watt psu,rosewill media card reader,lg dvdrw,kingston 4gb ram ddr2 667,hitachi 250 gb sata 1 hdd,ecs 8800gts 320 mb.
i will be upgrading to either lga 1366 or lga 2011 sometime next year with 6 gb ddr3 ram,gtx 460 or 470 1 gb video card,lg blu ray burner.
i dont mind over building so i have more than enough power for current and future components

The picture is a lot clearer now.. Ok, your current system won't need much more than a good 450W PSU.. Your future upgrade plans, while staying at a single video card scenario, suggest that a good 650W PSU will be enough.. On that note, and with a seeming desire for a fully modular unit, you can opt for the Seasonic X-650 or X-750.. My recommendation however would be the XFX Black Edition 750W.. Brilliant PSU which is highly efficient and can adequately handle two of those 470's along with an overclocked i7 comfortably..

Note - Mentioning the GTX 470 is just for reference purposes here.. By the time you decide on a video card upgrade, there will probably be more powerful video cards with better efficiency..
