Is water cooling eco-friendly?

I am putting together a mid-range system, and one of the things that matters to me is getting low power usage. I know that water cooling systems are a lot more efficient in terms of heat transfer, but does this make them more eco-friendly than air cooling?

Just to be clear, the system I am planning would run fine with fan cooling - but I'll get a water cooling kit if it's less power hungry.

Thanks!

More about water cooling friendly
  1. They will be more power hungry - you need to run a pump and whatnot as well as fans. Passive cooling systems would be the most eco-friendly I guess...
  2. this is closed loop.... so i think you wont be actually using water (more eco friendly)....
