Hi all,
I have a Dell Poweredge 2850 that I bought for a small business. I understand that most server machines are meant to run continuously, so was wondeing: would powering the Poweredge down at the end of each day have an adverse effect on the longevity of the machine?

I have an PowerEdge 1850 test machine and it makes no difference how often its powered down.

no. plus if something breaks then I look at is time for an upgrade replacement anyways... ;)
how are you utilizing the server and what OS are you running on it.?
