CPU Heat sinks

I want to upgrade my CPU from an AMD Athlon X2 6400 to an AMD Phenom X4 965.
I have a Zalman CNPS 8000 heat pipe cooler now. Would it be adequate to cool this new chip?
Thanks

  1. the stock heatsink is adequate as long as you arent overclocking. sooo...uh yeah? hehe.
  2. what motherboard do you have?
  3. I just installed a Gigabyte MA770-US3 when my Asus M2N32-SLI video went out. I have not overclocked it but I was thinking of possibly overclocking the new 965. Not really sure if I need to. Video card is an Nvidia GT240 w /1GB ddr3.
  4. should be ok.
  5. Thanks for the input..... Greatly appreciated..
