Do you have to reformat your hard drive when using a new motherboard?

The title says it all. I bought everything new except I'm using my computers old hard drive. Does it have to be formatted? And if so, when I power the new computer on, will I be presented with the opportunity? Sorry for the probably very simple questions :P

  1. not really, but. Butr with Windows XP, vista, or 7 it'll demand new license if more than 5 components have changed, and you'll have all the wrong drivers for everything. So you might as well format the drive.
