Why my cd drive is not working

Hello,

when i install my cd or dvd , the cd drive doesnt open , only yellow light blinks , i dont no wats the prob , so anyone please help me to solve this prob.

Hmmm, check ALL connections including the motherboard, if everything is properly connected and still no go, try in another computer..

Are you talking about putting a CD or DVD into a DVD drive or installing a actual drive into your pc? If its the latter perhaps you need the drivers for it. Does it auto detect in new hardware. Look in my computer.

Check the jumper settings if it's an IDE, make sure it's either a master (if at the end of the cable) or a slave if on the middle part of the cable.
