Hello,
I recently assembled a computer with the following configuration:
4 GB DDR2 RAM
ATI 5750
Intel Core 2 duo 2.8 Ghz
Cooler Master 400W PSU

While playing some games, the computer stops responding after some time. The monitors starts switching between Analog and Digital like it is not receiving signal from the CPU. When I opened the CPU, I found out that even after freezing, the GPU's fan works. So I am not sure if this is a GPU problem. I have changed the monitor, but the problem persists. It happens in some games like COD:MW2 and Operation Flashpoint:DR. Just before freezing, I checked the GPU's temperatur to be 86 C maximum.

Please help.

Solution
86c is quite hot, but it shouldn't affect the GPU that badly. Check the processor's temperature as well.

Try underclocking the card 40/60mhz on the core/memory and see if that allows you to play longer.

Dude!!

It's working like a charm. YOu are a genius! It didn't get stuck anywhere.

How badly would this affect my performance? Do you think I should improve my cooling. How?
My sound card is directly in front of the GPU's fan. Could this be a problem?

THanks a lot!!
