Sony 8gb flash problems

Hello,
I bought two Sony 8G flash drives and my data keeps disappearing. I know there may be viruses present at my work, however I am wondering if anyone has had bad experiences with these particuar flash drives?

Try re-formatting them (preferrably to NTFS which is more robust than FAT32).
Oh, and don't use them for long term storage of precious data, they aren't reliable enough for that, whatever brand they are.
