Hello,my original hard drive was transferred from inside my laptop and contained now in a caddy for use as an external hard drive.,via USB.
Can i now boot up and have everything working as if hard drive was still internal.or will i have to swop it back?
Thanks in advance

If your BIOS sees the USB device you can boot from it. It's going to be slower, but should work just fine.

If it is connected via USB 2 interface, it will be really slow. You need to set USB as the first boot device via BIOS for it to work.
