I've got a Sapphire HD4850 on Windows 7, and I just downloaded the latest CCC no less than 30 minutes ago.

Temperature: 78 *C
Activity 0%
Fan Speed: 22%

Manual control doesn't seem to work, no matter what I do. The GPU is hot to the touch. Any advice?

You can download MSI afterburner and use it to create a custom fan speed curve. Since you just got it you might want to give sapphire a call, the fan should be much higher than that a 78C, my 4850 doesnt drop below 40% fan speed ever, 22% is extremely low.

I'll try MSI Afterburner then give Sapphire a call if it doesn't work, thanks.
