Can I plug a WAP610N into a wireless router

I have a wireless router on one side of a huge room, who's wireless signal doesn't reach the other end. So what i was thinking of doing was since i have a network drop in the wall on the other side, was hook that drop up to an open port on my wireless router, then plug a Linksys WAP610N into that network drop in the wall. I dont care if its the same or different wireless networks on either side of the room, but would this work for providing wireless to that side, or would it cause problems? My wireless router is an old non-Linksys one, so guessing it would be two separate wireless networks at that point.

Also, the WAP160N would just do its own DHCP and stuff for its own area, right?
