Hey guy's :hello: ,I've been an ardent user of tom's hardware and hope to get awesome feedback and answer's.

I badly want to get my 10 year old athlon pc up and running.

I want it to run as an 24 x 7 download rig .
Here is my config:

AMD Athlon Xp 1500+@ stock speed.
Gigabyte GA 7VM266 Motherboard
Dynix 512Mb DDR ram
Seagate IDE Hdd @ 5400rpm
200w psu.

This rig was working fine the last time i checked, right now it's all a mess.

My problem:
It simply does not boot up,when i hit on :

1.The cpu cooler fan spins
2.There is no beep sound(i don't remember hearing it the last time i turned it on)
3.It stays on for about 30seconds and shuts itself off.
4.The keyboard lights keep blinking at me for those 30 seconds?

What does this all mean? Did i kill my older brother?
Does he just need some iso-propyl alcohol bath or should i power him on with an new cmos battery??

Guy's i dunno what kinda problem i'm facing, So i've come to you for help, please help.

Any kinda help will be deeply appreciated.

I had almost the exact same problem and it was because my psu was failing. I did come across this in another forum somewhere there, before you go out and buy anything else.

1. turn off the system
2. unplug the power supply
3. hold the power button for about 30 seconds
4. ???
5. profit

If that doesn't work then it's probably the power supply, like my system's problem.
