$800-$900 CAD build

i have helped others on this forum but now i am in need of help myself so if you would please.....


i have about 800-900 dollars to spend on a good laptop/ or build my own computer, obviously i am favoring building my own but my parents are looking at getting a laptop as another option

i don't need a mouse or monitor

my question is should i go with the propus or with a 945/55/65?I will be doing a slight overclock( 300-400 mhz) i would also like to know how i can go about overclocking the memory

and if anyone has any suggestions on a good silent keyboard that costs less, i would like to see it

and if anyone has any suggestions on alternate parts i can use for anything, i would like that info too

  2. You'll get your ram timings from cpu-z. Look at the SPD tab. At the bottom of the window is the 'timings table' which gives you your range for each frequency.

    Use Everest to benchmark the memory and also your your read/write speeds.

  3. and just to clarify, this is for the use of CAD not canadian dollars

    anyway,to mosox, i can't use combos because my time of purchase is about a couple months down the road

    and calguy hunk, thanks for the link

    any other suggestions?

    If you plan do do CAD and similar things, you might actually benefit from the Thuban processor.

  5. i am sorry but i can't rally go with combos right now, cuz my purchase date is in about a month and most combos disappear by then

    so i mainly just looking for different brands i should consider or different parts

    and i really like the antec 300 illusion so that isn't changing sorry
