CPU messed up?

so i overclocked a couple months ago and it was a total disaster. my computer was dead. I replaced the motherboard first and i acutally got a boot into bios. but not any OS. Since then i have changed everything besides the CPU. I am unable to boot from a CD could this be a sign of a dead CPU. i have pretty much replaced everything else. any input on this before i go out to buy a cpu for what i hope will be the last part i will need to buy for a loonnnng time. all comments are welcome!

so there is a possibility it IS the CPU? thats all i need to know because my family keeps telling me its not since it gets into bios.

A dead CPU wont even boot. Let alone get into BIOS. Do the breadboarding and see what you get.
