I5 quad core or i3 dual core in new imac

I am debating between a 3.2 GHz i3 imac or a 2.66GHz quad core i5. The quad core is 100 dollars more than the i3. I would be multi-tasking such as: surfing the web, excel, eye tv, and buring dvds, along with matlab, and photoshop.

Would the i3 do? I could also upgrade the i3 memory or graphics card?

your thoughts would be great! Thanks,

  1. Yep for multitasking the quad core wins, especially in apps like photo shop that is designed to handle 4 core plus.
  2. i3 suffices for your tasks but i5 will definitely help in apps like PhotoShop. So i say its worth the extra $100.
