I5 quad core or i3 dual core in new imac

Hello,

I am debating between a 3.2 GHz i3 imac or a 2.66GHz quad core i5. The quad core is 100 dollars more than the i3. I would be multi-tasking such as: surfing the web, excel, eye tv, and buring dvds, along with matlab, and photoshop.

Would the i3 do? I could also upgrade the i3 memory or graphics card?

Yep for multitasking the quad core wins, especially in apps like photo shop that is designed to handle 4 core plus.

i3 suffices for your tasks but i5 will definitely help in apps like PhotoShop.So i say its worth the extra $100.
