Hello, I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to the technicalities of Mobos and CPUs, which is why I asked for help choosing a compatible one here on Tomshardware.com. I was under the impression that my AM2+ socket (AM3 Ready) Mobo would be able to support the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T. Upon further research (after purchasing the processor) I discovered this was not the case. I may be wrong, but when I turn on the PC with the new processor, all I get is a black screen. No beeps, no visuals, just a black screen and running fans. My Motherboard is a M2N78-LA (Violet) by Pegatron (A division of Asus). Now, before I go begin purchasing parts for an entirely new build, can someone confirm for me that these two components are not compatible? Thanks in advanced.
