Hi, I have an MSI Motherboard with an AMD chipset and an AMD CPU, can I use an Nvidia GeForce 7900GS 256MB graphics card with it? I'm hoping for a temporary solution since my replacement Radeon HD 5750 1GB is crashing my computer with a "Hyper Trasnport sync-flood" error. (More on that here)

Specs:
CPU: AMD Athlon II X3 440
MB: MSI 785GM-E51
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64
PSU: 550W
RAM: 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 G.Skill Ripjaws

Thanks =)

It should work fine. AMD don't block the use of NVidia cards, and vice versa.

The only issue might be driver support for such an old card. Seems like you're getting a rather strange error there though O_o

Theoretically, it should work fine, however I've often wondered if both manufacturers might have some subtle firmware or driver features to make their competitors hardware look bad.

I put the card in today, so far it seems to be holding up. I'll post back if anything strange happens.

Thanks for the replies =)

hmmm. Looks like another RMA for you. That is an odd error, but it looks like the card is to blame.
