I'm trying to build a rig for a friend but he is on a very limited budget. We decided to go with an i3-2100 for now, which he could upgrade to a i5-2500k in the future if he wanted more power.

I wanted to get recommendations on p67 (1155) motherboards that are priced low but still have good features for the future. I personally prefer Asus, but I'm open to anything that is recommended.

Here are a few things I'm looking for:

1) Lowest price point
2) Minimum 2 PCI-E slots in case he wants dual video cards in the future
3) USB 3 support for at least some ports
4) SATA 6Gb/s support for at least some ports

Right now I have the ASUS P8P67 LE (Rev3.0) as a choice, but looking to see if there are recommendations for something cheaper. Here is a link to it: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131706

Maybe this is already the best? Let me know, thanks!

LE = Less Expensive = Limited (in the bad way) Edition

Your buddy is going to need to spend a bit of money if he wants to be able to use CrossFire or SLI in the future. He needs a board that can do x8/x8 PCIe operation, and the cheapest boards can't do that.

A list of candidate boards:
ASRock P67 Extreme4
ASRock P67 Extreme6
ASUS P8P67 EVO
ASUS P8P67 PRO
ASUS P8P67 Deluxe
Gigabyte P67A-UD4
Gigabyte P67A-UD5
Gigabyte P67A-UD7
Gigabyte P67X-UD3
Gigabyte P67X-UD3R
MSI P67A-G43
MSI P67A-G45
MSI P67A-GD53
MSI P67A-GD55
MSI P67A-GD65
MSI P67A-GD80

The MSI P67A-G43 is the least expensive of those listed, and still has the features you want for the future. I recommend the ASRock P67 Extreme4, but it's a bit more expensive.
