Brother NoteBook PN8500 Question

i got a PN8500 a question.

it's about conversion. i'm able to convert files created on the
NoteBook processor (WPT files) into ASCII text files just fine (with
the conversion software on the disk.) but i have a problem the other
way around. i convert the TXT file to WPT, put it on the disk. it loads
fine into memory on the NoteBook, but when loading from memory into the
word processor, the machine restarts. it loads files created by the
NoteBook word processor just fine, but not converted ones. it's choking
on something, i don't know what. have this experience?
