I have a HP Pavilion zv5240us that came with an internal CDRW combo. The
DVD is not a burner. I have tried HP and all they told me was to use an
external drive. I saw that the Pavilion zx5280us has a DVD burner. Both
computer look identical except that they each have different options. Can
someone tell me where to get the internal DVD burner for the zv5240us?

I would think any retail dvd burner would be compatible with your
system. If you only have one slot (bay) for an optical drive, then
that is the reason HP would tell you to get the external drive. If you
want an internal one, simply pull out the CD-RW and replace it with any
retail DVD-RW drive... does this answer your question???
