I am replacing a CRT which finally died. I do graphic design work on a MAC (DVI port) with the monitor and color accuracy is very important to me. I am interested in 22" or 24". I am interested in 1920x1200 but can live with 1080p. I have seen the backlight LEDs advertised and like the energy efficiency. Can anyone recommended a monitor around $300 with these features ?
AFAIK, you ain't going to find an IPS based LCD display for $300. You need at least $800 for IPS/IPS like displays. Check out the Anandtech reviews on LCDs. They do some of the most extensive/technical tests on LCDs. The site is down right now, so I can't link you.
You won't find a pro level monitor for $300 unless maybe in the 17-19" range. Check on the Dell UltraSharp models, they tend to get the highest ratings, but you need to spend probably $500 or more for a 22". Maybe find a used one?
