So its my first time putting together a build. Its a budget build so i'm not to sure which one would be best. The options:

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811121004

If the link is broken then its the:

HEC 6K28BBX585 Black 0.8mm SECC Steel MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case 585W Power Supply

OR
http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=12650AC7087&vpn=CS-51WBK&manufacture=LOGISYS#specifications

likewise if link doesn't work its the:

Logisys CS-51WBK Black ATX Tower Case 4X5.25 2X3.5 5X3.5IN W/ 480W Front USB Audio

Please give reasons for your choice, thanks again.

Solution
Either remove the URL tags or put something between the ] and [

I hope you are planning to get a new power supply because the included PSU in both of those cases are crap and i wouldnt let them near your components.

Both cases are pretty cheap, neither come with any special features, but the Logisys is a full ATX case so it gives you a lot more upgrade options down the line, while the HEC is pretty limited on hard drive slots, and the Logisys looks like it has most places for fans if you need them.

Its the quality of the unit, the logisys "480W" unit has a single 12V rail with 16A(192W) which is pathetic for a 480W unit. The HEC has a 19A and a 20A rail, but doesnt admit what the combined power between them is. With a unit that is cheap enough to come in a ~$30 case, you will be lucky if 19+20=30, its Passive PFC and lack of 80+ certification tells us that its an older inefficient design and likely cant do what it claims.

Here are the links to them on newegg to see their specs

Definitely! There are very few PSUs included with cases that are any good, the only ones i know of that are good are included with Antec cases. Newegg.ca seems to still have the corsair 400CX, my preferred little unit for lower power builds, its more expensive than either of those cases but it will last you for many years to come unlike those two with 1 year warranties. They seem to have the EA380D for a little cheaper, it is just as good but it does not come with a power cable(not a problem for most people since most have spares). I would recommend one of those two instead of either of the two that come with those cases because if a PSU goes it might just die, it might decide to take some other things down with it so you dont want to go too cheap on your PSU.

BFG is currently in liquidation so i dont suggest getting any of their products since there is no warranty support.

The Cooler master 460W is decent, not great not total crap, but its less powerful than the EA380D, and the little red switch is a sign of an older design. It would probably survive for a few months but i wouldnt leave it in a system for more than a year.

What else are you going to have in this system so we can make sure you have enough power?
