I'm building a computer for my friend who only plans to play light games and surf the web so I'm going with an IGC to save power, cost, and heat. So out of the ATI 3300, 4200, and 4290 which would be the best? I heard that the 3300 is better than the 4200 but I have no clue about the 4290.

Well yes, obviously... I meant it as i wont just choose a mobo for the graphics. If i find a 3300 board that fits my friends needs more so than a 4290 i wont just choose the 4290.

Well the different IGPs are specific to different chipsets. Optimally I would recommend the latest; an 880G or 890GX board preferably with both 6g/s SATA and USB3.0. The 880G boards all use the HD4250 I believe and the 890GX uses the HD4290.
