I am planning on buying the following for my dev box in the next week, I have never built a system from scratch before and have just gathered info. from reading different reviews on newegg and forums here. Can u please look at this and suggest me any possible replacements which provide better value ?

Purpose: Dev box, running multiple development tools (Visual studio, eclipse, different emulators palm,android,windows phone etc..]. Two Monitor setup.
Willing to do moderate OC without voltage/heat increase.

Option 1:

* AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ965FBGMBOX
* GIGABYTE GA-870A-UD3 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
* EVGA 512-P3-1213-LR GeForce 210 512MB 64-bit DDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card
* Antec EarthWatts Green EA-430D Green 430W Continuous power ATX12V v2.3 / EPS 12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power ...
* Antec Three Hundred Illusion Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
* G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL
* Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST31000528AS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
* SAMSUNG CD/DVD Burner Black SATA Model SH-S223C

Newegg sale Price Including all the combo deals & discounts = $540 -$50 MIR = $490

Option 2:

* AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ955FBGMBOX
* GIGABYTE GA-880GMA-UD2H AM3 AMD 880G SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
* Antec EarthWatts Green EA-430D Green 430W Continuous power ATX12V v2.3 / EPS 12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power ...
* Antec Three Hundred Illusion Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
* G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL
* SAMSUNG CD/DVD Burner Black SATA Model SH-S223C
* Western Digital Caviar Green WD7500AADS 750GB SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive -Bare Drive

[NO GPU CARD, I assume the 880 integrated chipset supports dual monitor if not I was planning on adding a cheap graphics card like MSI N8400GS-TD256 GeForce 8400 for $9.99 after MIR]

Price Including all the combo deals discount = $485 - $15MIR= $470

[option2 has 955 instead of 965 and motherboard is 880G vs 870 + Graphic card and option 1 has 1TB hard disk vs 750 GB in option 2].

Which option would you suggest and even in that would you recommend I swap something out ? (most of it is based on the newegg's one day sale prices)

One Word: Thuban + OC Ok 3 words :p

Yep 690G chipsets and later can all do 2 displays via IGP and to date a max of 6 IIRC (could be 8 now as some 700/800 series IGP chipset with 3 PCIex16 lanes) with the addition of 2 Radeon class GPUs in this neat function called ATI Surroundview (have to enable it in BIOS)

This was a suggested Farm Fat Feline config (el cheapo render farm) but could work just as well for ya ^^

thanks for the suggestion. I actually contemplated a bit on the thuban, due to the extra cost and the gain over 965BE i did not consider it. I am on a tight budget.

If you were to use 965 or 955 what modifications would you do to the above 2 options and which one would u choose.

Anyone ?

I decided on these mostly from the combo deals and the newegg's one day sale going on.. any feedback would be great.
