hello, i have a kingston v+200 480GB solid state drive that i have recently damaged. i have cracked the case but the drive is still working fine. i was wondering if it is possible to remove the drive from its original enclosure and place it in another, possible a 1.5" to 2.5" drive converter except unscrew the reader? would it fit? and would my drive still be working anyway? their are no cracks or damage to the drive itself but would it get corrupted or anything from being removed from its original enclosure (like a HDD) although i highly doubt that.

here is a link to the converter i have found, can i just shove my drive into here? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3506...

many thanks

That thing that you linked looks like a converter case that would concert a 1.8 drive to a 2.5 drive and I don't believe that you want that. you want something that is made for a 2.5 drive. What I would do is get a case that holds a 2.5 SSD and put the drive in it without removing it from the damaged case and just use the enclosure to help protect it from moving around and being exposed to outside intrusion.

I have used this before as an adaptor and this will protect the SSD from further damage.

i still need my drive to fit into my 2.5" dirve bay though D: the item that i linked is exactly what i need except their is no opening for the 4 pin port thus not allowing me to place my drive inside! (the reader part of that case can be removed making it just an empty enclosure)

i need an empty enclosure for a 2.5" sata 3 ssd, but i cant find any! :pt1cable:
