Why there is problem in asus and sata harddisk?

am having sata hard disk and asus motherboard while formatting it never detects cd (cd of xp) it ask for "insert disk in drive" why?????

Check your cable connections and boot order in the bios.

Which ASUS motherboard are you using? Which SATA socket are you using for the CD-ROM drive?

On some ASUS motherboards there are 8 SATA sockets, but 2 of them cannot be used for ATAPI devices like optical drives - they are only usable for hard drives. It's possible that you plugged the optical drive into one of those.
