Asus M4A88TD-V EVO

Had some stability issues the last few days, so today I ran memtest+ on all sticks individually, as pairs and as all 4. I've also checked each DIMM slot individually.

The only issue I've come across,
if 1 stick is put in slot 1 or 2 it's reported as 666MHz (DDR1333) as per mobo default.
If 1 stick is put in slot 3 or 4 it's reported as 200MHz (DDDR400)

What's that about?

The manual says "Install one memory module in any slot as a single-channel operation".

Is there a fault with my mobo?

Welcome to Tom's Forums! :)

The DIMM_A slots are the primary DIMM slots that the BIOS reads the 'SPD' information encoded into the RAM sticks, DIMM_B slots are not read by the BIOS. Therefore, the MOBO/BIOS is using a 'safe' setting; it assumes something's wrong.

For 2 Sticks ONLY use the SAME color DIMM slots.
