HDD SSD

Hello I own a Sager NP9130. I would like to have the dvd disk drive removed and have a hardrive caddy installed. I was wondering if the caddy is installled will I be able to use an SSD in it or just an HDD? If I use an HDD will it work with my SDD i already have installed?
