More about : computer build couple questions sp12 August 24, 2010 9:41:24 PM Is this just for gaming? If so: i5-870 or i5-760 (either 0$ or -80$, either will outperform it, 870 by quite a bit) Ga-P55a-UD3 mobo (-80$) Haf 922 (-40$, still crazy large) GTX 470 (-120$, ~97% of the performance) XFX Black edition 850 watt PSU (-25$ for a nicer PSU) Samsung F3 1TB (same performance, -13$) Else, 89$ version of the Caviar black. Get a G.skill ECO series 1600 speech kit for 102$ to go with the other mobo. (-~50$) And take that extra money and get 3D monitor/SSD/switch GPU for dual 460s. Would be a much better gaming build. The P55 mobo+CPU+ram suggestions are optional, the others are simply better choices. hunter315 August 24, 2010 9:41:39 PM I would swap the PSU for an XFX 850W unit, after promo code and rebate its only ~$104 and is just as high quality as the Corsair HX850 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... For $2 more you can get the slightly faster version of the 1TB caviar black http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... I would take this memory kit over the two you posted, its got lower voltage, and slightly better timings, and free shipping so it comes out slightly cheaper too http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
