Ill be upgrading my CPU by christmas.
Ill also buy a new Case to make cooling more easier and more efficient.
So... currently i've got a AMD Phenom II x2 555 BE. And im thinking about buying a AMD phenom II x2 970 BE.
Will it be worth it? I may also consider going for a intel core instead, not sure yet, and if so... please give some general advices.
If you really want the best advice, I would give us the model of your motherboard so we can best judge the worth of the upgrade you are asking about. You may want to consider other options for future planning.
Cause the computer is mainly going to be for gaming. So i've been sitting the whole evening looking up benchmarks... and the I5-760 is sooo awesome in the gaming department, found some quite nice parts with it, you can see the Mobo+graphics card above, please comment and critisism please
You have expanded your original question quite a bit. How much money are you looking to spend? There are many in the forum that would be happy to help you spend it. It sounds like you will need new memory and a power supply etc .....
im able to spend about 700-750£
Things ill keep from my old computer are the harddrive, power supply & cd/rom reader. (depending on what i'll buy... i can maybe keep my old mobo+ddr2 memorys if buying the AMD 970) But i've been looking through several benchmarks and they all show intel i5-760 to be superior to AMD Phenom II x4 970 BE in gaming. And ive also wanted to test out a intel processor to check out the differences from AMD.
Btw for gaming right now ill need a graphics card.. and in the budget the radeon 6870 fits me best
Sorry for all the confusions btw ;s
