Hello,
I have recently got an 1Tb SATA HDD. The Bios picks it up. In windows 7 I need to Initialize from Disk management. It then gives me 2 options. MBR or GPT. Neither one works. Should the Bios Setting for SATA be IDE or RAID?

Please help

Hi AMD655

When I put the SATA to IDE mode, I get serious problems. Windows Doesn't allow me to do anything.
Now what i've done, it to Load bios Defaults. It then sets the SATA mode to Raid.
I am then able to work with it in windows. Trying to copy some data over to the 1TB.
No problems yet, but its hoging my machine?

Is there a right way of doing this with my Mainboard?

Hi

Seems like the problem is sorted. SATA mode is RAID. Bios Default.

What CPU can I upgrade to with my K9VGM-V mainboard?

Regards

K9VGM-V 1.86Ghz/ 4GB RAM/ Nvidia GT8600 1GB, 128bit/ 80Gb IDE/ 1TB SATA

Hi AMD655

Thanks for all your help. I'll be looking if I can find it here in SA. Things are a little bit more expensive here than in England.
