Nah, they should work fine together, unless you have one of those lava breathing super OC cards, a but a stock or near stock 460GTX will be just fine.

Believe it or not, my q6600 was the bottle neck to my gtx 285 until around 3.1ghz.

I recommend overclocking that chip to an easy 3.0ghz or so if you can.

Its not a discovery that the c2Q might bottleneck the card, i have my c2Q oc at 3.6 ghz, along with a gtx 460, they do great-
I would recommend to Overclock you cpu-

The Kentsfeild Core2Quads are very powerful, I have a Q6600 overclocked at 3.4ghz, it outperforms a stock i7 920 according to Sisoft. They are even 5% faster than AMDs Deneb Cores (Phenom II 940 - 970) Clock for clock.

at stock speed it's very possible for you cpu to limit your gpu.
a higher dual core is still a good gaming chip compared to a slower clocked quad core.

your system is still pretty solid, nice combo of Intel and nVidia.
what's your motherboard or if a prebuilt unit then by whom.?
i recommend a slight overclock of your cpu and you should be good to game.
nice resolution to game at and you should have no problems.

If you dont want to dable in OCing the CPU, grab one fo the cheaper 768MB 460GTX, you can then for a terrific price, and they are a bit weaker than their 1gb cousins, so a perfect match :)

spend a few dollars on a higher clocked quad if you do not want to overclock..
